Considering new rules and regulations governed by the introduction of the European standard EN 1317 for road restraint systems (Safety Barriers), Sistema realised the need to support the already popular Sistema Steelgard parapet and safety barrier by creating a revolutionary HIGH CONTAINMENT central reserve system.
Along with all our products, the Steelgard Central Reserve has successfully passed EN 1317 crash testing at an accredited European test laboratory thus proving to be more suitable than concrete barriers for preventing cross-over situations with oncoming traffic.
It’s easy assembly and connection to the supporting structure enables for a time efficient installation procedure along with quick maintenance or replacement in case of damaging incidents.
By adopting energy absorption techniques the Steelgard central reserve acts as a heavy chain during impact distributing the applied force over a greater length thus controlling and minimising forces imparted to the structure.
